As we close out another year, Colin and I want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Thomsen Fine Art is more than a gallery to us. It's a community, a gathering place, and a family. The trust, enthusiasm, and continued support from our collectors and artists is what allows this space to thrive, and we are endlessly thankful for the relationships we've built along the way.

This year has been filled with meaningful conversations, unforgettable artwork, and moments that remind us why we do what we do. From our gallery family to yours, we wish you a joyful holiday season and a beautiful start to the new year.

With love and gratitude,

Chelsea

What's Coming in January

Visions Unveiled

January 2-10

January opens with Visions Unveiled, a curated release of our newest arrivals and a celebration of what's ahead for the season. This dynamic group exhibition features fresh works by George Bodine, Tatyana Klevenskiy, Jenness Cortez, Michael B. Karas, and more, on view from January 2-10.

We invite you to join us for opening night on January 2nd, from 6-9 PM, during Downtown's Fresh Friday and the First Friday Gallery Walk - an evening filled with new art, conversation, and the energy of the season's beginning.

Dominic Avant

January 16-24

Thomsen Fine Art is pleased to present a solo exhibition by award-winning painter Dominic Avant, January 16 through January 24. Avant's work seamlessly blends realism and impressionism, grounded in a lifelong practice of painting from life.

Widely recognized for his landscapes and plein air work, including the acclaimed Honeybell series, Avant has received honors from Plein Air Magazine and was a 2024 finalist in the Art Renewal Center's Renewal International Salon. He is equally celebrated for his figurative paintings and was commissioned by Disney in 2024 as part of their Inclusion Series, with his work "Awakening" now permanently installed at the Grand Californian Hotel's Hearthstone Lounge. That same year, he created the album cover Portrait for Grammy Award-winning jazz artist Samara Joy.

A four-time award recipient from the Art Renewal Center's International Salon, Avant has been featured in exhibitions at Sotheby's New York and the MEAM in Barcelona. A faculty member at Ringling College of Art & Design, his work is held in private and public collections throughout the US and internationally. This solo exhibition at Thomsen Fine Art offers a rare opportunity to experience the depth and quiet power of his work in person.
