New Arrivals
Study- Library Series by George Bodine, 16 x 18 in, oil on double primed belgian linen
We're incredibly excited to share George Bodine's newest body of work. These figurative paintings build upon one of his greatest strengths: knowing precisely when and where to reveal the light.
His extensive travels throughout Europe lend a sense of romance to the way he paints. In these scenes, darkness becomes part of the piece, allowing the works to glow from within.
We invite you to enjoy these remarkable new works, currently on view at the gallery.
In Remembering Ray, Bodine crafts a story that leaves us wanting to know more. The figure's military jacket and photographs behind her suggest a story untold.
Bodine's restrained use of light brings elegance and a sense of mystery to this work. Its intimate scale draws us closer, making each viewing feel like a private discovery.
We don't know her story, but we would like to. With every closer look, the mind begins to fill the gaps and answer any questions we might have.
Remembering Ray by George Bodine, 18 x 14 in, oil on canvas
City Lights by George Bodine, 16 x 12 in, oil on double primed belgian linen
The Quiet Flame by George Bodine, 20 x 16 in, oil on linen
City Lights and The Quiet Flame are the most vibrant of George Bodine's newest works.
Saturated reds and oranges meet an unexpected mix of violet, turquoise, and blue. Bodine uses color here in an unmistakably contemporary way, breathing new energy into the tradition of figurative painting and allowing each work to come alive.
We invite you to experience these paintings in person, where the richness of their color and texture can be fully appreciated.
EJ Paprocki
Lotus Reflections by EJ Paprocki, 30 x 40 in, oil on canvas
EJ Paprocki is known for his impressionistic style, in which loose, expressive brushwork and a luminous palette come together beautifully.
In Lotus Reflections, water lilies drift across tranquil blue water with the colors of the sky gently mirrored on its surface. Light appears to dance upon the canvas, recalling the poetic water lilies of Claude Monet while retaining Paprocki's contemporary approach.
At 30 by 40 inches, Lotus Reflections would make a beautiful focal point. This piece brings light, color, and a wonderful sense of openness into a room. It is the kind of painting that can change the entire feeling of a space.
Thank you for reading and sharing in our love of art. Your support allows Thomsen Fine Art to exist as more than just a gallery - it becomes a place for connection, discovery, and inspiration.
